Senior Picture Season

It's the end of the summer and school has started which means a lot of people have needed senior pictures. Here are some from this summer's photo shoots.

Birthday Smash!

My adorable nephew recently turned one year old and I figured this would be the perfect opportunity for a photo shoot. I got this idea from the Rachael Ray show and thought it was adorable. All you need is a baby, a cake, and a camera. It doesn't hurt to have the cutest baby alive as a model...not that I'm biased or anything :) Below are the results:

Awww it's a family :)

This past weekend I had the privilege of taking the Shea family photos. I met Megan Shea in high school theatre and I love her family. This Saturday we met up at Redstone Park and shot these photos. I love taking family photos. There is such a great connection and the photo shoot is always guaranteed to be a good time. I absolutely love how they turned out.

And before you know it, they're all grown up...

So graduating from High School was weird enough but shortly, my younger, twin brothers will be too. I just took my brother's senior pictures and it is terrifying to realize how old they are. We took some of the classic senior pictures and did some wrestling photos too. They turned out really nice! They will be graduating in May and then they will be heading to college and eventually on missions. It is crazy how time flies. I remember when they were tiny and now they are HUGE! Well at least they seem huge to me; probably from wrestling. I am so proud of David and Andrew. I can't wait to see where life takes them. Below are some of my favorite photos from our photo shoot.

Nothing says "Summer" like hanging with the dogs

I Summer is officially here. Almost everyday is sunny and beautiful. Perfect for just layin' around in the backyard. And who better to lay around with then my two dogs, Abby and Sugar. These are probably the two best dogs is the world (ok so maybe I'm a little biased). Abby is the black one in the pictures. She is a four year old, husky/lab mix and she is a ball fanatic! She would literally run until she passed out if we would let her. Sugar is the other on. She is a six year old lab mix. She is pretty laid back but does get random bursts of energy, especially when the squirrels run along the back fence. Today we basked in the sun together and it wasn't long before Abby begged to play fetch. I threw the ball a little and decided that I would take some pictures of the two. Dogs are extremely expressive. Their eyes truly say it all and that is what I love about these pictures.

I'm not going to starve at college!

My mom just got a job teaching high school Family and Consumer Science! She can now teach her amazing cooking skills to the world. She asked me to take some pictures of her food and they turned out pretty good! Then again, how can my mom's cinammon rolls not look AMAZING! They're so delicious. She also made a pasta dish. Both were very fun to photograph! So all of this food photography got me thinking about college. Although I LOVE cereal, one can only eat it for so long. I did some searching on the internet and found a food blog that had this amazing recipe for chipolte shredded beef taquitos. They are delicious. I can now rest assured that I will actually eat more then cereal at college......that is if I can afford it!

Below is the link for the taquito recipe. They are very tasty. My one piece of advice for this recipe is you need to quickly fry the tortillas. I tried for twenty minutes to get the tortillas to not break. Simply heat a sautee pan with a little oil in it and put the tortilla in it and flip it to the other side. The heat makes the tortillas pliable. Make sure you let them sit for a few seconds after you take them out of the oil. You don't want to burn yourself.

Ding Dong the Bells Are Gonna Chime...Kind Of...

So I got to photograph a wedding!...kind of. This is Brooke and her wedding reception. The funny thing is...she isn't getting married until June. Brooke's family has lived here for quite some time but they are moving to Connecticut. So, her and her fiancée had a reception here in advance. The reception was a blast. At first, I took some family and couple pictures outside and they turned out beautiful. Then the scary part. I had to photograph inside! I borrowed a nice lens and a flash diffuser but it took me a little bit to get used to the indoor lighting to get the photos to look just right. Eventually I got the flash to do something I was happy in and overall the pictures turned out nice. Plus I had a ton of fun shooting!!!

THE START OF SOMETHING NEW!

I am terrible at keeping a journal so...I gave up. This is my version of a journal and I personally think it counts. Anyways. Welcome to the crazy world of me and my business. Lets see how good I can get at this. And for all of you who don't know me I would like to say hi! I'm Michelle! I'm one of six kids and I and currently the aunt of the cutest little boy in the world (not that I'm biased or anything). I enjoy theatre, music, and photography and I plan on attending BYU-Provo in the fall. Below is a picture of me :)
